Cycling
The Scottish Borders is an ideal area for cycling. Its varied landscape allows cyclists of all abilities to enjoy the different terrains, be it fast downhill trails and off road stretches such as the 7stanes mountain bike trails, testing road climbs with outstanding views or quiet, flat country lanes suitable for all the family - the Scottish Borders around Glentress has them all.
There are a number of cycle routes in the Scottish Borders. Free leaflets covering routes around the bigger Border towns are available at tourist information centres. The Coast & Castles Cycle Route is part of the North Sea Cycle Route and an official route map & guide can be obtained from all good bookshops or direct from Sustrans via their website at www.sustrans.org.uk.
